Fall Protection Plan and Risk Assessment Implimentation

FALL PROTECTION PLAN & RISK ASSESSMENT IMPLEMENTATION COURSE 

(Only those companies who appointed Gravity Training cc as their Developer for their FPP)



Who :   

Site supervisors, safety officers, appointed persons. This course is to enable anyone who is involved in managing people for work at height to impliment a company's designed fall protection plan. This is in order to comply with the OHS act 85 of 1993 Construction regulation sec 8 involving working at height.

Candidates:

Minimum: 5 candidates Maximum: 10 candidates - Scientia

Minimum: 7 candidates Maximum: 10 candidates - Away training


Duration: 1 Day (1-5 Candidates) or 2 Days (6-10 Candidates)


Requirements:

Who must attend FPP Imp course:

  • Company HSE manager with HIRA competency required. (if SHE managers is not available then Construction Manager (CR8(1) or Other managers involved with the health and safety of the company), recommended 229995 or 229998 but not required.
  • Construction Site Supervisors with HIRA and 229995 competency required (CR8.7 of 2014 or CR6(1) of 2003).
  • Optional:
    - Safety officers (CR8.5 of 2014 or CR 6.6 of 2003)
    - SHE Representatives.
    - Risk assessors ( CR9 of 2014 or CR7.1 of 2003)
    - Client Site agents (CR5.5 of 2014)
    - Team leaders with HIRA competencies and 229995 required

Managers or higher positions:

  • 1x Certified copy’s of I.D Document
  • Copy of Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue certificate – Not Compulsory / Highly recommended
  • Further recommendation: HIRA Certificate (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment)

Site Supervisors or Safety Officers:

  • 1x Certified copy’s of I.D Document
  • Copy of Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue certificate – Compulsory
  • Further recommendation: HIRA Certificate (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment)


Certificate valid for : 3 Years

Course Content:

  • Legislation for work at height
  • Definitions
  • Fall Protection plan layoout and implimentation
  • Risk assessment for work at height, and practical exercise to understand concepts & completion of the pre-task risk assessment
  • Pre-task Risk Assessment assignment, to be done on a known site, the candidates compentency will be determined by the completion of an assignment
  • Site specific aspects relating to Fall Protection Plan
  • Training record management
  • Gear inspection record management
  • Medical evaluation management
  • Rescue procedures
  • Incident reporting
